What is Ambitions Afoot?
Ambitions Afoot is a blog chronicling a journey of bucket-list desires on my way to age fifty. I’m recording it here because I would like to share it with anyone who might learn something from this endeavor, even if that is only one person.
Like many, I prefer to place things into neat or nearly neat categories. To accomplish these bucket list items, I’ve separated them into the following categories.
- Assemble
- Design
- Vocation
- Entertain
- Nutriment
- Transcribe
- Understand
- Read
- Extra
Together, these categories create a wonderful acronym, ADVENTURE. The A.D.V.E.N.T.U.R.E. page lists my current goals, projects, and endeavors.
The Tools That I Use
I have sought the help of using technology to achieve these ambitions as I see these as tools to tease out and finalize these ideas.

Inkscape is used to create this site’s icon and may be used in other artwork I create.
This is used to bounce ideas off and get help on these projects. I’ll share the prompts used to generate content for this site to help us all learn. If I don’t happen to share the prompt due to length or otherwise, I’ll tag the post with A.I. use.
I will be the first to admit that I’m not a wordsmith! However, I do have ideas that I struggle to express, and therefore, I use tools like this to help me organize my thoughts coherently.
It is a powerful yet simple image editor. It does the simple editing that I need it to do, and I haven’t encountered any limitations yet.
